IMMUNODIAGNOSTIC MATERIALS

Autoimmune Disease

Autoimmune diseases are a class of diseases caused by immune dysfunction, in which the body produces pathological immune responses against self-antigens, leading to organ or system damage. The global incidence of autoimmune diseases is 5% to 20%. Since the production of autoantibodies is one of the basic characteristics of autoimmune diseases, autoantibodies themselves have become serological markers for most autoimmune diseases. Autoantibodies are generally detected using a multi-item combined detection strategy, combined with patient gender, age, medical history, and other laboratory indicators. In the diagnosis and treatment guidelines or expert consensus of autoimmune diseases, the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases usually adopts a scoring system, and the score of autoantibody test results generally accounts for a relatively high proportion. Cusag provides various in vitro diagnostic reagent raw materials for the detection of autoimmune disease markers, including SLO, RF, U1snRNP, SS-A, SS-B, etc., which can be used for the development of diagnostic kits for autoimmune diseases.

SLO

Streptolysin O (SLO) is a toxic and immunogenic protein secreted by most group A streptococci. In infected individuals, SLO acts as an immunogen to increase the patient's immune response. Clinically, the increase in the level of anti-SLO antibodies (ASO) in serum has been shown to be associated with streptococcal diseases such as glomerulonephritis and rheumatic fever. After infection, the concentration of ASO rises after 1 week and reaches its highest value after 2-4 weeks. If there are no complications and reinfections, the concentration of ASO often drops to the level before infection after 6-12 weeks. The normal concentration of ASO in serum is generally not higher than 160 IU/ml. If someone is higher than this level, the doctor will consider the possibility of streptococcal infection. ASO testing is of great significance for the auxiliary diagnosis of streptococcal infection.

RF

Rheumatoid factor (RF) is a specific antibody against the Fc fragment of human IgG molecules. It is the earliest serological indicator used to diagnose rheumatoid arthritis (RA). RF has 5 types: IgM, IgG, IgA, IgD and IgE. IgM type is the main type. In clinical practice, the detection of IgM type RF is mainly used for the diagnosis, classification and efficacy observation of RA.

Histamine

Histamine is an organic nitrogen compound produced by histidine under the action of decarboxylase. Many tissues contain large amounts of histamine in mast cells, especially the skin, lungs, and intestinal mucosa. Histamine is released when tissue damaged or inflammation and allergic reactions occurred. Histamine has a strong vascularizing effect, and can increase the permeability of capillary and venule wall, plasma leakage into tissues, resulting in local tissue edema
